It surprisingly seems as if television productions have purposely oriented their contents towards what is mostly desired by the Italian audience, and obviously the result is that producers think that Italians are only curious to know whether life is just one big dream or dreams , at worst , can help us carry on. Based on what appears on TV it definitely seems to be the only entertaining topic nowadays. Is this what our audiences really need? Well, quite a while ago people enjoyed themselves when everyone on the scene wound up throwing pies at one another. May I add that probably “sound” has not added much to “action” in all cases! I think we should go on entertaining our audiences but it is equally important that we use any existing means of communication to increase people’s understanding of progress in medical research and all that comes to be known about cures and existing treatment for deadly diseases. Personally, I would have found the answer to the question on …life being a dream …or vice versa… the very same day I discovered there was probably an existing cure, somewhere around the world, for the cancer that caused the premature death of a special friend of mine. I hope others will be able to avoid such an experience; this is why I’ve decided to share this new awareness, with my audience, by creating and directing this film. LE MALATTIE DELLA NOSTRA ERA
Per conquistare la terra , non sono necessarie armi come le bombe o il raggio della morte, le armi possono anche essere pensieri , atteggiamenti, pregiudizi che si trovano nella mente degli uomini. I pregiudizi possono uccidere, il sospetto può distruggere e la ricerca insensata di un capro espiatorio può travolgere come una catastrofe adulti e bambini ed anche i bambini non ancora nati. L'aspetto terribile di tutto questo non accade solo nei testi filosofici. Basta guardarsi oggi attorno e troveremo questo,spesso, in chi amministra sconsideratamente e ignorantemente il potere. Una grave malattia conosciuta con il nome di odio, non è un microbo , ne un virus, ne un germe, ma non ostante questo è una malattia e anche altamente contagiosa e con effetti mortali, non la cercate nella fantasia, cercatele nello specchio o quantomeno attorno a voi e trovatela prima che la luce vada via del tutto!
UN TERREMOTO CHE DEVE INSEGNARE
In Abruzzo, abbiamo ancora una volta dovuto confrontarci con i lati meno piacevoli della natura. La considerazione che ho maturato in questa bruttissima esperienza, consiste nella convinzione che i processi ineluttabili della natura hanno calpestato vita ed ogni altra cosa , ma la dignità di un popolo, no. Le Istituzioni hanno fatto il loro dovere e finalmente, in Italia governo ed opposizione si sono trovati uniti al proprio popolo. Questo è molto apprezzabile, non lo è quando si pensa che questa forza di coalizione si genera solo sulla soglia delle tragedie epocali. Sarebbe bello pensare che tutti i problemi dei cittadini anche in tempi migliori, potrebbero essere affrontati con la stessa ammirevole cooperazione. Un fatto assolutamente negativo è però emerso. Tutti i geofisici, sismologi , vulcanologi e studiosi vari, hanno espresso apertamente ed inequivocabilmente la loro quasi totale inutilità. Cosa importa avere centinaia di persone impiegate a monitorare quanto è già accaduto senza una minima capacità di prevenzione. Sarebbe come concentrare a ricerca medica sulla quantificazione dei morti per una certa patologia. Quindi suppongo sia doveroso limitare di molto gli sforzi economici con denaro pubblico in questa direzione. In particolar modo in momenti di forte crisi economica come quelli attuali. E' certo che se quanto sostenuto dal ricercatore Gioacchino Giuliani, avesse avuto credito, si potrebbe ancora investire in tale direzione, ma visto che è stato considerato "non attendibile" dalla comunità scientifica, ora sarebbe coerente attenderci dei corposi tagli di investimento all'intera categoria. Per concludere la mia totale solidarietà alle persone così inumanamente colpite dal sisma.
